An Interview With Justine Santaniello

One beautiful lady I am a HUGE fan of in life and on Twitter is, Justine Santaniello!

Justine is a multimedia lifestyle contributor that shares her tips and top product suggestions – otherwise known as her ‘Just Haves’ – regularly on The Wendy Williams Show, Good Day New York, CBS’s The Couch, Yahoo!, New York Live, FOX Business, PIX Morning News, BetterTV and much more.

Justine is the founder and creative director of, and she is fast becoming a go-to media and consumer resource for anything and everything related to style, beauty, gifting, entertaining and travel!

Justine launched her Twitter chat last night for the first time ever, #JustHaves — make sure and check it out Wednesday evenings! She is someone I genuinely look forward to talking/tweeting with on a regular basis!

How did you get your start?

I started working in the media space seven years ago as a TV segment producer. I was hired out of college and thrown into the mix right away. In this job I wrote scripts, trained talent, booked interviews, styled sets, and the list goes on and on. It was in this job that I learned, made my mistakes, took my chances, and found my true passion, which was being on-air.

How did you get the background and skills necessary to run this type of business? 

In my work as a TV segment producer I learned a lot about the media landscape from multiple angles. As a producer you are really in charge of almost everything on a project and this is what I believe gives me the edge over other talent out there. I know what station producers want to see in my segments because I have done their job. I know what my PR clients and brands desire from me because I worked one-on-one with these people from a behind-the-scenes role. Of course it also doesn’t hurt that I went to The Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University, which not only prepared me for the real world of media but also introduced me to my first boss in that first TV producer job.

How do you define success as a business owner?

Success is different for everyone. Everyone has a different mark they want to hit and different goals for the long term. For me, success is building my brand to one day become a household name and a go-to resource for all your lifestyle needs.

If you were to design the perfect team of 4 people to help you run this company, what characteristics would those four people have?

Because I am lucky enough to have some incredible people in my corner already, this answer is easy! Everyone on my team now from my publicist and social media advisor to my web manager and stylist, all of these people possess the same qualities I look for in a team member: knowledge of the industry, professionalism, a strong work ethic, and a genuinely likeable personality.

Whom do you seek advice from for your business?

I believe that a business is a team effort even when your business is based on you as an individual. I seek advice from people I trust like my husband and my family, friends who are accomplished in their space. I also look to others who work in my field to compare notes and learn about their strategy. Most importantly, I wouldn’t be able to do what I do without my team. I am very lucky to have an amazing publicist Robyn Stevens and the best of the best social media advisor Dede Watson. Without these women I would be lost.

Justine and I have the same publicist so I KNOW we are both in great hands with Robyn!  I also adore and respect Dede and look forward to getting to know her more!
